Beauty is the Antidote to Grief (2023)

On 28 September 2023, the famous Sycamore Gap Tree was felled as "an act of vandalism". During the first week of October 2023, just one week after this nature assault, photographer Estelle Slegers Helsen accompanied her husband, who walked the Hadrian's Wall Path, and she made photographs of one or more other beautiful sycamore trees along the path. The result is this series: 'Beauty is the Antidote to Grief'.
